In this project, we aim to have an overall understanding of the impact of traffic signals in delays at an intersection, to evaluate different strategies to design and operate traffic signals and to understand the effects of each strategy on traffic performance.

We have done 3 kinds of method to the signal design: Manual calculation, TRANSYT and microscopic simulation using VISSIM in this project.

Study area: The study area is in Kungsholmen, located in the core of Stockholm City. Kungsholmen is an island in Lake Mälaren in Sweden, part of Stockholm City. The geometric design is as figure 1. And we use F1-4 to give notations for traffic flows and G5-8 to give notations for pedestrians.
