Nowadays transportation is a big challenge for a city development, especially the commuting transportation, which causes highest traffic flow on weekdays. Due to the uneven workplaces and residence places distribution as well as the lacking of capacity in Stockholm, some congestion appear in the network, along with some pollution problems. What’s more, there will be a continuous population growth, which might aggravate the problems in the future. In this project, we will simulate a transportation system in Stockholm using Matlab. By changing the land use, network and other model parameters, we can evaluate some solution for those problems.
